As I'm editing photos from this precious girl's newborn brother's session, I came across this photo. As the daughter of one of my dearest friends, it's precious for me to see the connection between dad and daughter. I'm so excited for this growing family, and can't wait to show more pictures from this session!

Rodriguez Family | New Braunfels Family Photography
With my crazy schedule, and their crazy schedule, it was a full-time job getting this holiday session on the books, but look the precious images we got when we finally made it happen! In the last set of images, you'll see the HUGE difference 7 months makes. Their little one is turning into a little MAN!
Marcie & Roger are not only some of the nicest people I've ever met, but also some of the most genuine and hard-working. I met them both back in March of 2011 at New Braunfels Crossfit, and instantly hit it off with Marcie. It's rare to find a woman that I click with in the workout arena, and this girl gets it. She pushes me, knows just when and how to encourage, and I'm so excited for and proud of the work she's done as an athlete and now an instructor. Roger is her perfect strong (semi-)silent partner, and the balance they create in the gym and in their home is perfect. I am so grateful to have this family in my life! Looking forward to documenting the growth and change in their family in 2012. :)

A New Braunfels Senior Session
I've been wanting to photograph Gabby and her iconic glasses, fabulous hair and easy smile for MONTHS! Finally it's spring time and well into Senior Picture taking time, so we made a go of it yesterday. I'm so happy with the images that we got. Both of us were looking for something a little bit different. Something other than the typical senior poses that we were both seeing... and I think we got it!
Leave some love on the blog - 30 blog comments (from 30 different people...) will get her a cool gift! :)
Thank you so much Gabby for going along with my every whim yesterday!

Urban Paws Magazine, March 2011
Hamil. The absolute sweetest floppy-eared pit bull I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in my whole entire life.
Knowing he was hearing impaired going into the session, I mistakenly assumed the challenges that would come along with it. He was so incredibly well trained and happy go lucky, that it was quite possibly the smoothest and quickest dog session to date. What a treat to spend my morning with the crew at Guardian Pit Bull Rescue, and what a gem he will be for the family who adopts him. I'm toying with ideas on how I can offer prints of these gorgeous dogs up for purchase, while allowing the proceeds to go back to the rescue groups associated with the dog. Any thoughts?
And... I would LOVE to see this little collection as a canvas wall cluster.... Or a set of metallic standout prints... or photo greeting cards! What do you think? What's your favorite product for dog photographs?

Summer Peach Pie
I spent the couple days following USA's Independence Day with some good friends in a most beautiful part of the hill country, and had the wonderful opportunity to make homemade peach pie with this little peach of a girl.
Doesn't this just make you want to make your own pie or cobbler!? Don't let these moments go undocumented. Brush the dust off your camera and get these on the wall.
These photos are taken *before* my monstrosity of a camera clocked her in the eye. Note to self: careful, careful, around those that are eye height from the lens when strapped to your body.

Houston Beagle Rescue BYOB Event
Favorite image from last night's BYOB (Bring Your Own Beagle) event in Houston. It was a bit of a scorcher, hot and humid, and this little one found the perfect spot *right* in front of a fan. Made me smile.
Miss Sophia (from the cover of this month's Urban Paws) is still looking for a forever home! I may just decide to take her home myself - she really is that precious. And quiet. :) Check out http://www.houstonbeaglerescue.com/ for more information
What a great group of dog owners - passionate about their rescue group, and so very willing to open their arms to let me in. Thank you - was so great to meet you all!

... graduation ...
It's happening again. Another one of my siblings is graduating high school. At the same time I'm celebrating my 10 year high school reunion. Though I can't believe the time has passed so quickly, I'm thankful for where I am now, the experiences I've had since then, and am incredibly excited about the future.
I loved taking these photographs of Tyler (and Sarah and Katie). It is truly amazing to watch my brothers grow into handsome men. Men that are starting out on their own, making their own lives... The world awaits, brother.

2010 off to a lovely start
Long time, no see!
It's been way too long since my last entry... So I just plan on giving tidbits of everything that's been going on, professionally, and then another entry of personal faves. Enjoy! I'm in Moab, Utah right now, getting ready to embark on a month long journey of friends, exploring, and adventure... Sure to be more blogging in the near future.

New Backyard Friend
I was headed out to the compost pile to dump my juicing scraps when I spotted this little girl hiding out in the unused dog house in my back yard... Thought she may run away or attack me (never been much of a cat person, but nevertheless intrigued and an all-animal lover), but thankfully she was so incredibly friendly... So I sat in the oversized dog "shelter" with her for a good 30 minutes. We had a nice chat as I told her she was welcome anytime, and tried to snap a few pictures. Looking forward to seeing her around more often. :) And... just have to say that the temperature outside is fab.u.lous.

Day 5 - Sweet 16
What a fun day! My youngest brother and sister turned 16, so I drove out to my parents ranch and celebrated over a delicious home cooked meal and the traditional homemade banana pudding. I LOVE that my family chooses this over cake. I'll blog 2 photos just so you can get a close-up. :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Katie & Austin!

Miss Charlotte, 5 Months Young
I remember waking up the morning of this shoot thinking to myself, "Where can we possibly take photos INSIDE!?" It was sooo cold, but thankfully warmed up by the time we made it out to Cibolo Nature Center. If you have never been, do yourself a favor and spend a day exploring the wooded trails, river, and marsh. I'm amazed every time I visit how diverse the landscape is in such a relatively small area.
Charlotte (and her beautiful parents) were such troopers, and it shows in the photos the love that they have for each other. I adore coming back to the "office" and uploading the photos - I always know the shots that I have captured, but those little looks between husband and wife, or mom and child are absolutely precious and cannot be scripted. Thank you, Teresa and Matt for inviting me to share this beautiful day with you!
